Contemporary Country Classic

Located along the scenic George Waterway, this home was designed by Bruce Wilkin with a tribute to the Greek Revival period. The house offers an unexpected twist in this urban setting, combining contemporary country appeal with classic architecture. 

Craftsmanship and structure was the focus of this build, stylized with bold accents and luxurious materials. Jenny Martin Design worked hand-in-hand with the client to help focus his vision and bring it to life. With future resale in mind, the home had to fit the owner while suiting a family in the future. The design team worked closely with the contractor to ensure details were executed in line with the design. 

A transitional style is found throughout the house, and neutral tones are glamorously accented with features of charcoal and navy, along with brushed brass hardware. Strategic details add elegance, such as built-up crown moulding and soft millwork. Oversized pendant lights create visual drama, while the kitchen’s modified shaker doors and white subway tiles provide timeless, contemporary details. Layered lighting sets the mood, while tall windows offer abundant daylight. Generous storage and an easy flow creates a space ready to be lived in.

The effect is an elegant urban take on a classic country style, with sophisticated ease and courageous details.
